A Weekend of Rest and Renewal in the Poconos

This weekend is a gentle invitation to step away and rediscover an unhurried rhythm. Set on 400 acres of wooded trails at the Himalayan Institute in the Pocono Mountains, the retreat gives you space to put your phone away, slow your pace, and remember what it feels like to live at the speed of nature.

So many of us spend our days reacting to notifications, emails, news feeds, and the quiet background pull of our devices, with little room to truly power down. Rather than treating screens as the whole problem, the weekend looks at what draws us to them, and offers practical, body-based tools for easing that pull once you are home.

Disconnect to Reconnect™ combines gentle movement, Yoga Nidra, reflective journaling, honest group conversation, and a guided nature walk to help you unwind naturally.

The Weekend's Restorative Practices

The weekend schedule is designed to be deeply nourishing and restorative. The guided offerings are thoughtfully structured to facilitate a seamless transition into deep renewal:

• Gentle Yoga: Accessible, slow-paced movement to release the tension that builds up from hours at a desk or screen.

• Yoga Nidra: A practice of deep rest that settles an overstimulated system.

• Reflective Journaling: Clearing mental clutter and steadying focus.

• Group Discussions: Realistic boundaries with technology at home.

• Nature Immersion: Time outdoors on quiet wooded trails to walk, breathe, and be offline.

Is This Retreat the Right Fit?

This retreat is for anyone who feels tethered to their devices and wants a deliberate break. Whether you are dealing with professional burnout, creative blocks, or simply the exhaustion of modern digital life, this weekend is built for you.

Note: This is an educational and restorative retreat, not a clinical psychotherapy program. It is designed to provide rest, community, and practical lifestyle adjustments.

The Setting: 400 Acres of Serenity in the Pocono Mountains

Far removed from the noise of the city, the property features private forests, walking trails, and comfortable, simple accommodations that support a restful night's sleep.

Retreat Facilitation

The Disconnect to Reconnect™ Retreat is led by Carole Shepherd, LCSW-R, LMT, RYT, SEP. An integrative psychotherapist and somatic practitioner with decades of clinical experience, Carole brings a deep background in somatic practices and Yoga Nidra, so the weekend stays grounded and expertly guided while you slow down and find your own rhythm.

Reserve A Space for Deep Rest and Renewal

Space is intentionally limited to 16 participants, to keep the weekend quiet and personal.
